Graffiti Archaeology

I never would have imagined of putting the terms "graffiti" and "archaeology" together but I guess the time has come. In these modern times the history of some things evolves faster than a few hundred years ago. Having done some graffiti in the past myself and being very interested in the culture, this project caught my eye immediately.

Graffiti Archaeology is the study of graffiti-covered walls as they change over time. The project is a timelapse collage, made of photos of graffiti taken at the same location by many different photographers over a span of several years. Most of the photos are from San Francisco, over a timespan from the late 1990's to the present.
