Create thumbnails for a bunch of pictures

Right about now, there's someone connecting their digital camera to a Mac and wondering how to speed up the work of creating 148 thumbnails of the photos he/she took at his family reunion to send by e-mail to all the relatives.

Well, fear no more as I've stumbled upon a piece of software that will make that chore very easy and quick. What's more, it's freeware! Here comes ThumbsUp by DEVONtechnologies (btw, it's not a typo, that's how they write the company name).

This drag-and-drop based utility creates thumbnails for a bunch of pictures and supports all image formats of Mac OS X and QuickTime (including PDF documents).

Highlights:
  • Convert and resize images in a batch.
  • Preconfigure desired size, quality, sharpening and anti-aliasing.
  • Scale images by percentage or maximum size.
  • Can be used as ultra-fast image converter (scaling = 100 percent).
