Adobe releases Photoshop Elements 4.0 and Premiere Elements 2.0

Adobe Photoshop Elements 4.0 enables you to edit and enhance your photos by fixing common flaws instantly or using advanced options for more control. Show off your creativity in entertaining slide shows, photo mail, Web galleries, and more. Photoshop Elements 4.0 delivers more editing power with the new Magic Selection Brush that allows consumers to select specific parts of photos for easy color, lighting and contrast adjustments. The Magic Extractor easily extracts subjects from photos, with advanced edge defringing, for great composites. Smart technology behind new features means effortless photo enhancement with automatic red eye removal across a batch of photos, one-click skin tone correction.

Adobe Premiere Elements 2.0 software makes it easy to create home videos with special effects, titles, credits, and Dolby Digital sound. The software makes it easy to import video clips from all digital video devices, experiment with hundreds of professional transitions and effects, and burn videos to DVD.

These tools are excellent for the casual photographer and video amateur that want to produce quality material without having to learn the complexity of Photoshop and Premiere at once. The users that will miss some features will eventually upgrade, but that's what Adobe was aiming for sure. All in all, check out the new features as well as the Elements User website with lots of tips & tricks.

Interesting how Adobe has seem to neglect releasing mac version of neither of these 2 products. Could it be, that they feel their offerings aren't that good as compare to the iLife Suite? By the look of things these apps are more of less aimed at the average joe, kinda like the iLife suite. Although the iLife suite is pretty damn good for what they are.

I agree completely. Photoshop 1.0 wasn't even made for Windows and now they keep releasing software just for Windows.

Their loss, it gives other apps the possibility to get a bigger piece of the market.
